Its an unfortunate fact you don’t know if proposed decontamination will work. It may be sufficient decontamination for some people but not others and your response may be unique to you. One of the best ways of knowing if decontamination will work is to assess whether the proposal is to remove contamination or simply look like its gone away.
There is a major difference here. Anyone can show massive improvement by trickery, investigation into what the protocol does may be the first clue. You cant kill mould and desiccated mould is 40 times more harmful so be sure you are asking the right question.
