Im afraid no decontamination protocol currently used in UK actually works regarding the medically safe levels required for CIRS patients. If you paid contractors to decontaminate your house you should request evidence they actually did but more than likely, they made contamination worse.I very much doubt you had the mould spores removed, and I know you didn’t get the inflammagens that cause CIRS removed. Im afraid EC3 wont make any difference. The Goldshield 5 may stop bacterial loading (on surfaces ) for up to 90 days but your not licking walls are you?
You need to read up on what is actually making you sick and make sure your diagnosis is accurate.
Please research and understand killing mould increases helath risks and there isn anything that can be used in a home that kills it anyway, just aggravates it.
It depends what test the doctors are willing to do
Urine tests are the norm but not much use. WE offer them but only if requested by medical practioner helping the client
Blood tests are far better and more useful.
Real Time Labs and Great Plains offer Urine tests at relatively low cost but again be warned of usefulness.
Many of the mycotoxins identified in urine come from food we eat
If you visit Building Forensics web site there is a lot of information on mycotoxins and what specific ones target certain areas or organs
Sorry for slow response
Always ventilate. You can have 99% humidity in the Antarctic and its dry as a bone , whereas 30% humidity in death valley Arizona is like a sauna . You need to calculate the amount of water in the air with a Psychrometric chart and I will put one up on the forum. Here we measure RH against temperature to calculate the actual weight of water in the air. So its a combination of two factors temp and RH NOT just relative humidity.
Mould needs warmth, no ventilation and moisture (not wet) and preferably NO UV light (sunlight)
Sorry been so slow I wasn’t watching for posts.
Neuroquant is a measurement of brain volume in different areas.
In my Neuroquant I had swelling and some atrophy, but it takes a skilled person to read the results. If you contact Whole World Heath and try to speak with Dr Macmahn I beleive he may read your results and its likley to cost about $200 . Its well worth it but you can also do a VCS test on line .
Many people do a urine test for mycotoxins, typically with Great Plains and Real Time labs in USA. They always come back with something. The real issues are inflammagens and they can be minute but often associated with mould and bacteria
Be very careful about Mycotoxin testing a negative doesn’t mean anything and if its positive it still means little
The real test is for blood markers and I doubt your doctor is a toxicologist.
I went to University College London hospital where they tested me and said I have no allergic reaction to mould when in fact it was an inflammatory response. Check out http://www.Survivingmold.com
VOCs may or may not be the main issue in CIRS. I would look for inflammagens and particulates. Fragrances and VOCS are more likely to affect those suffering with MCS.
I would use dehumidifiers to dry a building if I had to but there are better ways to dry a water dmaged building.
Few DHs have filters and they are certainly not HEPA.
The coil and drip pan quickly become contaminated.
I wouldn’t have a DH in my home unless it was brand new and single use.
I have shown time and again air particle counts and air bioloogical contamination counts pre and post turning on a DH. They are mould and bacteria factories and people with CIRS shouldn’t use them
As an expert in mould I think my opinion does matter. Is it unbiased, I think I would soon be found out if my advice was aimed at promoting my company. I have criticised enough companies in the industry so Im sure there would be many only to pleased to correct me.
